A hybrid is a movie that combines elements of two distinct genre types. As a result, it can’t be defined by a single genre. At Screen School, here is where you work within your own authenticity, your individual self where you cannot be defined by one box. We think outside of the box working in front and behind the camera. Exploring many roles within the film industry. Collaborating in small groups on projects, self tape preparation for the industry, and fun improvisation classes to build confidence, communication and collaborative skills. Whether you are interested in working within the Film, TV and Theatre Industry, or not, this class is beneficial for all to really help set young people up for living independently in the world.
Students will be learning how filming works, to have an understanding of how to be in front of and behind the camera, as well as learning the difference between theatre and screen acting.
We will be working to produce an individual project per term for each student to take home and keep* (these are not assessments because… #NothingIsWrong!!)
*Film footage will be at industry standard, should you wish to submit to an agent or for work within the industry (we will guide you on this should you wish)
